Obituary of Glenna Lillian Burden
God answered our prayers and took Mom to be with Her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Glenna Lillian Burden (Corey) passed away at the York Care Home on Sunday, March 17. She was the daughter of the late Sherman Corey and Freida (Banks). Mom was born on August 25, 1921 in Pinder, NB.
Mom leaves a daughter, Joan Hawkins (Charlie) and two precious Granddaughters – Heather Hawkins of Fredericton and Heidi Ciarlo (Tony) of Abu Dhabi, UAE. She is survived by two brothers, Herby Corey (Josephine) and Neil Corey; a sister, Fay Bishop (Eddie) in Dartmouth, NS. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Mom was predeceased by her husband Jason Burden; son David Burden; her brothers Wesley Corey and Arnold Corey (Lillie); and her sister Maida Picard (Philip).
Mom lived her life serving others. She loved everyone unconditionally. She cleaned many homes for too many people to mention. Mom was a faithful member of the Mactaquac Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. For many years, was the janitor at the Church.
Mom loved her cats, Baby and Mindy.
Mom’s going home celebration will be held at the Mactaquac Baptist Church. Visitation will take place at the church on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 6-9 PM with the funeral service being held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 2 PM.
