Obituary of Daniel Long
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Daniel “Danny” Kelvin Long, husband of Karen (Bilensky) Long, on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Fredericton Hospice, after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Fredericton, NB on May 18, 1957, he was the son of Irene (Cunning) Long and the late Walter Long.
In addition to his wife and mother, Danny is survived by his sons, Jeff (Katie) and Greg (Linda); grandchildren, Sophie, Walter and Madilyn; brothers, Forrest (Patsy), Russ and Mike (Mary); brother in law, Brian Bilensky (Shelley); several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his daughter in law, Cassandra.
Danny worked for many years at Neill’s farm and Saunders Equipment. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, especially feeding the birds and critters that lived on their property. Danny was an avid Nascar fan. He was a self taught man, who could do most anything he put his hand to.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 12-2 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 2 pm with Pastor Steven Teed officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date.
