Obituary of Shirley Booker

The passing of Shirley Elaine Booker of Nashwaak Villa formerly of Estey’s Bridge, NB, wife of the late James Booker occurred on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Nashwaak Villa. Born on March 25, 1936 in Taymouth, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Harriot (McFadgen) Dodds. Shirley is survived by her children, George Booker, Timothy Booker (Susan), Brian Booker, Elizabeth Booker-Price (Rick), John Booker (Jackie), Kris Donovan (Keith), Robert Booker (Hoda) and Phillip Booker; twelve grandchildren, Amy Whalen (Joey), Lacey Collier (Paul), Jeremy Booker (Shey), Jared, Julianna, James and Jacob Booker, Melissa Hickey (Zach), Lee Anne Robichaud (Ryan), Matthew Donovan, Scott and Andrew Booker (Jessie); eight great grandchildren, Tyson and Spencer Whalen, Elaine and Liam Hickey Kaden and Kolten Nash-Booker, Jackson and Alexzander Robichaud; sister, Martha McNichol (Nickolas) and brother, William Dodds (Sharon); brother in law, William “Bill” Brittan; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughters, Bonnie Booker and Cynthia Booker; sisters, Una Dickson (George), Loretta Brittan, Hazel Sands (John), Margaret Zacharias (Abraham) and daughter in law, Cathy Booker. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, January 13. 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Canon Bonita LeBlanc officiating. Interment will take place in Seymour Memorial Cemetery, Kingsley, NB at a later date. A very special thank you to the staff of Nashwaak Villa, Mom was cared for so well, truly a home away from home! In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Seymour Memorial Cemetery.
