Life Legacy PALMER, HUBERT MALCOLM It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hubert Malcolm Palmer on January 4, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a short illness. Hubert was born on August 2, 1926 to the late Charles Palmer and Lena Palmer (Taylor). Hubert was a war veteran and worked for CN for many years. After he retired from CN he was a carpenter until his passing. He enjoyed camping, working in his carpentry shop, spending time with family and friends and enjoying his cats. He is survived by his long-time partner, Marylou Campbell; sons, Calvin Palmer (Tracy) of Cranbrook, BC and Eric Palmer (Tammy) of Tumbler Ridge, BC; sisters, Faye Farrell (Ken) of Barrie, ON and Bethany Jamieson of Pefferlaw, ON; brothers, Milton Palmer (Ada) of Grand Bay, NB and Charles Palmer (Myrna) of Burlington, ON; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Hubert was predeceased by his wife, Janie Palmer (Burns); daughter, Janice Vanessa McGeehan and brothers-in-law, Ronald Robinson and Darrell Jamieson. There will be visitation at the York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 6 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place at the Astle Cemetery at a later date.
