Obituary of Sharon Nason

Sharon Elaine (Noble) Nason of Fredericton, NB passed away on December 24, 2018, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was born in Fredericton Junction, NB on April 26, 1945, the daughter of the late Herbert “Ted” and Leona (Phillips) Noble. Sharon lived her life with a youthful energy and a kind, generous spirit. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her favourite colour was yellow, which seems just about perfect because she was a bright, sunny light. She was a sports enthusiast and participated in many different sports over the decades. She played basketball, volleyball, badminton, softball, and was a proud and enthusiastic supporter of first her sons’ participation in sports and then her grandchildrens’ -- attending countless events over the years. She was an avid golfer and in the summer golfed several times a week. She swam regularly, was a member of the Northern Lights Dance Club (line dancing) and enjoyed bowling and bridge. She gave back to her community through volunteerism by canvassing for numerous charities over the years. She was a graduate of UNB and taught school briefly before staying at home to raise her two sons. She was an excellent cook, baker, and a talented seamstress. She will be immeasurably missed. Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of fifty years, James “Jim” Nason, her sons Shane Nason (Riel) of Quispamsis, NB and Scott Nason (Laurie) of Swan Creek, NB; five grandchildren: Danielle LeBlanc, Cameron Nason, Zachary Nason, Eli Nason and Tess Nason; two sisters: Carole Neal (Gregg) of Calgary, AB and Darla Scott (Steven) of Riverbank, NB; two brothers: Terry Noble (Maureen) of Tracy, NB and Gary Noble of Charters Settlement Road, NB; one sister-in-law, Doreen Evans (John) of Fredericton, NB; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Milton Noble, a sister, Janice MacLean, a brother-in-law, John MacLean and a sister-in-law, Greta Noble. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. A reception will be held at the funeral home immediately following the service. Interment will take place at Gladstone Cemetery in Fredericton Junction at a later date.
