Obituary of Austin Malone

The passing of Austin Gabriel Malone of Fredericton, NB, husband of Margaret “Eileen” (Larracey) Malone occurred on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 17, 1927 in Buckley’s Settlement, NB, he was he son of the late Joseph and Jenny (Breen) Malone. Austin worked for the NB Provincial Government Department of Finance Investment Office. He was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church. Austin was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening, golfing with friends, politics and traveling. In addition to his wife, Austin is survived by his daughters, Molly Styant of Airdrie, AB and Mary Malone of Fredericton, NB; son, Patrick Malone of Vancouver, BC; grandchildren, Nigel (Nicole), Duncan (Tasha) and Colin Styant, Mathieu (Sarah), Julie and Jacob Malone, Connor Beach; great grandchildren, Logan, Tir, Tycho, Zeus and Leo; sisters, Theresa Madden of Smith Falls, ON and Madelyn Richard (Eric) of Moncton, NB; many beloved nieces and nephews; special friends, Joy Asher, Patricia Ellsworth, Peter, Susie and Bobby Miller. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Margaret Malone; sons, Michael and Shannon Malone; sister, Mona Scott; brothers, Gerald, Joseph, Frank and Matthew. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11am with Father Martin Arputham as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Gabriel’s Catholic Cemetery, Buckley’s Settlement, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
