Obituary of Margaret Geraldine Martina Cornford

Surrounded by her loving family, listening to her favourite music, the passing of Margaret Geraldine “Jerry” (Wilson) Cornford, wife of the late Gordon Allison Cornford of Fredericton, NB occurred on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Dr Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born in Fredericton on October 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William and Levina (Doherty) Wilson. Jerry worked as an operator and supervisor at NBTel for 40 years followed by many years at the LBR canteen. She loved cooking, especially at Christmas when she would teach her grandkids. She also enjoyed knitting and watching the Maple Leafs but her favourite activity was always time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerry is survived by her daughters, Laurie Brooks (Cecil), Ellie Michel (Aaron), Angie Nason (Troy), Amy Paul (Misty); sons, Tommy Cornford (Jen), Mark Cornford (Marilyn), Donnie Cornford (Natasha), Danny Cornford (Beth), Charlie Cornford (Nancy), Willie Cornford (Shannon); daughter by heart, Kathy; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Burpee, Katie O’Rourke, Bonnie Wilson; sisters-in-law, Lill and, Francie Wilson; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Jerry was predeceased by her sister, Colleen Thornton; brothers, Bill, Ben, Marty and Bruce Wilson; sister-in-law Jackie Wilson; brothers-in-law, Michael O’Rourke, Ted Thornton, Ronald Burpee and George Orr. A Memorial Mass will be held from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 11 am with Father Martin Arputham and Father Monte Peters as celebrants. A reception will follow after the service. Family would like to visit with everyone and share treasured memories. Remembrances can be made to the Barkers Point School Lunch Program.
