Life Legacy
The passing of Shirley Irene Blenkhorn of Fredericton, NB occurred Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 12, 1937 in Devon, NB, she was the daughter of the late Fenwick and Mary (Clayton) Tapley. Shirley was a part time Teacher’s Assistant at Park Street School, working with the kindergarten classes. She enjoyed playing baseball, sewing and doing puzzles. Shirley especially loved children.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Kathy Burtt (Leroy) of Zealand, NB and Mary Blenkhorn (Kim Horncastle) of Fredericton, NB; sons, Gary Blenkhorn and John Blenkhorn (Kim Drummond) both of Fredericton, NB; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Pat Belyea of Ontario and Deannie Cassidy of Fredericton, NB; brother, John Tapley of Fredericton, NB; several nieces, nephews and special friend, Grace Townsend. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two grandsons, Andrew and Benjamin Blenkhorn; sister, Darlene Pajari and brother, Ronald.
The Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11am with Rev. Ferne Bell officiating. Interment will take place in Penniac United Church Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
