Obituary of Sarah Wilkins

The passing of Sarah Wilson Struthers (Watson) Wilkins, wife of the late Vernon Wilkins, occurred on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at her home. Born on April 21, 1928 in Dundee, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie (Craig) Watson. Sarah left Scotland on June 9, 1928 with her parents and family. They landed in Montreal July 16, 1928 and later settled in Dumfries, NB. Sarah is the last surviving member of her immediate family, she is survived by her daughters, Joanne Banks (Mike) of Swan Hills, AB, Barb Wilkins (Antonius Hartjes) of Cardigan, NB, Geraldine Wilkins (Warren Merrill) of Giants Glen, NB and Wanda Humble (Terry) of Stanley, NB; grandchildren, Vincent (Angela), Kenny (Vicky), Shelley, Shawna (Kip), Jennifer (Carl), Janelle (Jim), Cheryl (Mitch), Sandy (Mark), Vernon (Chantelle), Lori (Mark) and Mike; great-grandchilden, Amanda (Kirk), Lacee (Dan), Sarah (Matt), Bethany, Megan, Alissa (Kyle), Tristan, Kylee, Dean, Patrick, Brooke, Dylan, Logan, Cameron, Owen, Mason, Layne, Chloe, Anna and Abigail; great-great-grandchildren, Camden, Elliot, Kate and Juniper; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Sarah was predeceased by her granddaughter, Terri Dawn Humble; great-granddaughter, Jessica Joanne Banks; sisters, Annie Burnett and Agnes Harding; brothers, George and James Watson. There will be a visitation at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 12:30-2 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm with Rev. Brian DeLong and Pastor Vincent Banks officiating. Interment will take place at Stirling United Cemetery, Tay Creek, NB. No flowers by request of the family please; remembrances may be made to the Nashwaak Villa (bus fund) or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
