Obituary of James Coe
James Robert Arthur “Jim” Coe of Fredericton, NB passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 17, 2018, with family by his side. Born in Fredericton on January 10, 1934, he was the son of the late James and Florence (Healey) Coe.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Glenna (Orr) Coe; her daughter, Susan, and grandson, Julian (Maria), as well as cousins in England and Australia. Jim was predeceased by his young daughter, Lynda, and an infant sister, Shirley.
Jim retired as Residence Manager after 24 years at UNB, having previously been employed at Wood Motors. He was a member of the Fredericton Golden Club, affiliated with the Nashwaaksis United Church and Hiram Lodge No.6 F+AM. He was a founding member of the Lake George Gun Club, as well as a member of the former Capital District Heart Support Group. An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed numerous outdoor activities (even scuba diving!).
The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lung Association of New Brunswick, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
