Obituary of George Spilman
George Stanley Spilman of Fredericton, NB, loving husband to Darlene (Hamilton) Spilman passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 10, 1940 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mabel “Billie” (Smith) Spilman. George was a devoted family man, there was nothing more important, but a close second was his electrical career. Recognized as a top notch electrician, George was the founder of Spilman’s Electric and Logic Data Communication and Electric. During his career, George mentored many junior electricians. He enjoyed the time he spent in the outdoors. He was very involved with the Marysville Baptist Church, his church family was near and dear to his heart.
In addition to his wife, George is survived and deeply loved by his daughter, Susan Williams (Barrie) of Fredericton, NB; sons, Michael Spilman (Jacqui) of Halifax, NS, Bradley Spilman (Deborah) of Fredericton, NB and Christopher Spilman (Susan) of Halifax, NS; grandchildren Tara (Kirby), Lindsay (Greg), Travis (Katy), Nicholas, Daniel, Jonathan, Caroline, Joshua, Jessica, Caleb, Elyssa, Josie and Cooper; great grandchildren, Jaydon, Alaina, Chandler, Kayleigh, Camden and Julie; sister, Jaci Stickles (George) of Lake George, NB and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 6 - 9pm. A Memorial service will take place at the Marysville Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 2pm with Rev. Jason Hinsdale and Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. Interment will take place in the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Marysville Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
