Obituary of Marion Clowater

It is with heavy hearts the family of Marion Elizabeth Clowater announce her passing on November 1, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Marion was born on February 8, 1932, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. In high school, she met the love of her life Don Clowater. They married in 1952 and together they had four children. She is survived by her children, Joye (Dale) Forster, Tim (Angie Leonard), Anne (Richard) Willis and Lynn (Miller) Esson; her grandchildren, Shawn (Tara) and Matthew (Kathryn Malcom) Forster, Jon and James (Susan) Willis, Lyndsay (Brodie) Torunski, Peter (Nicole) Esson and Matthew (Stephanie) Esson; great grandchildren, Gabriella and Allyson Forster, James and Erin Willis, Caleb and Fiona Esson; grand-dogs, Norman and Jenny and great grand-dogs, Pip and Ellie; one brother Jerry Gough and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Don and parents, Karl and Margaret “Maggie” Gough, she was predeceased by her brother, William Gough and sister, Kaye Butler. Family was everything to Marion; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a very kind caring loving and compassionate woman who loved to help family, extended family and all those in need in any way she could. She loved baking cookies for her grandchildren and especially enjoyed her time at the family cottage at Yoho Lake, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and anyone else who was visiting. Marion had a real gift to gab. It was one of her many great qualities. Marion took great pride in her work on the Board of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital and through other volunteer activities. To the staff and residents of Paradise Villa, oh how she loved it there and loved the people. Thank you for all that you did. A sincere thank you to the Nurses and Doctors on 3 East. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at 2 pm with Rev. John Galbraith officiating. A private Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church; Chalmers Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
