Obituary of Joann Brewer

The passing of Joann Myrtle Brewer of Stoneridge, NB, wife of Earl Brewer occurred on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 8, 1950 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Irvine and Vivian (Brewer) Gilbert. Joann worked for Clarks Chick Hatchery for 20 years, she then worked at York Manor for five years. In addition to her husband, Joann is survived by her daughters, Angela McHatten (Calvin) of Carlisle Road, NB and Alanda Brewer (Derek Baker) of Burin, NL; son, Roderick Brewer of Stoneridge, NB; grandchildren, Shek McHatten, Emma McHatten, Brennan Brewer, Lindsey Brewer, Gavin Brewer and Madison Brewer; sister, Diann Estey (David) of Bear Island, NB; brothers, Lance Gilbert of Pepper Creek, NB and Kevin Gilbert (Sheila MacLean) of Stoneridge, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Janine Brewer; sister, Sandra Brewer and brother, Brian Gilbert. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Terrance Brewer officiating. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Zealand, NB. The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU of the DECRH and the Extra-Mural Nurses for their excellent care and compassion.
