Obituary of Hermine Nierlich

Life Legacy It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the passing of Hermine (Reissner) Nierlich at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on August 26, 2018 after a brief illness. Hermine was born August 23, 1937 in Monchsdorf, Romania and immigrated to Canada in 1953; she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Sophia Reissner. Hermine loved her flower gardens and feeding her birds, so much so that she would live trap any grey squirrel and rehome them if they encroached on her bird feeders. Killarney Lake area now has a thriving grey squirrel community as a result. A very talented seamstress and cake decorator, in her younger years worked for several prominent downtown shops, Lavie en Rose, Margolians, Peter Roberts and the Speciality Shop. Hermine is survived by her sons, Robert (Pam) and Peter (Melanie); she cherished her three grandchildren, Sophia and Bennett Nierlich Coen and Jessica Nierlich. Also leaving behind is her sister, Sofia Graef and sister in law, Sofia Reissner along with many nieces and nephews. Hermine is predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Erwin Nierlich; her parents; brothers, Samuel Jr. and Michael Reissner; sister in law, Elsa Reissner and brother in law, Gus Graef. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 2-4 pm. Interment will take place in the Douglas Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances maybe made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences maybe offered through www.yorkfh.com
