Obituary of Helen Wilcox

It is with great sadness the family of Helen Elizabeth (Moore) Wilcox of Fredericton, NB announces her passing on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Helen was born in Marysville on June 8, 1924, to the late Kenneth and Grace (Robinson) Saunders. Following the death of her mother when Helen was seven years old, she was raised by her grandparents, Frederick and Elizabeth (Lizzy) Robinson. As did many Marysvillites, Helen began her early working days at the Cotton Mill. Although she worked at various jobs throughout the years, Helen was best known for her down town retail work at The Speciality Shop and VanDines on Queen Street where Helen's sweet, friendly disposition, her genuine interest in people and her listening ear would endear her to many Frederictonians who called her friend. Being an exceptionally social person, Helen referred to these as her happiest of days. Helen was predeceased by her husbands, Ervin Wilcox, Raymond Moore and her only son, Roger Moore. Helen poured her love on her only son, Roger, his wife Gayle, their two adored children, Maya, Tayne and wife Jill along with her beautiful great grandchildren, Abigail and Luke Moore. Gayle's husband Bill Banks, along with Raymond's nieces and nephews, were attentive and caring through the years. Special mention: Harry Gilmore (wife Gloria), Ann Hetherington (husband Garnet) and Helen Gilmore. Helen was loved by all and will be so very missed. Plans have not been completed for a small Memorial Service to be held in the Chapel at York Care Centre at a later date with Pastor Normand McDonald officiating. Please watch for a future paper announcement. Helen was affiliated with Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church. If desired, remembrances may be made to the church, Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
