Obituary of Eldon Clark

It is with deep sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of Eldon “Buddy” Clark, which occurred on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Millville, NB on November 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Marion (Knox) Clark. He attended vocational school in Woodstock and then UBBTS (now Crandall University) in Moncton, written in his yearbook “True to his work, his word, and his friends”. Eldon then worked at the post office for 28 years. He was a faithful member of Journey Wesleyan Church. Where he also started the Bus Ministry and dearly loved all the children who attended. Eldon loved being a big part and a big presence in his grandchildren’s lives; he will be sadly missed by all of them. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Alison (Hallett); sons, David Clark (Denna) of Grand Bay, NB and Mark Clark (Krista) of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Brenda Clark (Todd) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Matthew, Brendan, Ashton, Joel and Alexa Clark, Andrew (Megan), Jaimee (Jesse) and Laura (Stephen) Cornford, and Natasha Higgins (Nathan); two great grandchildren, Cameron Clark and Evelyn Cornford; sisters, Gertrude Harris and Shirley VanWart (Gordon); brother, Ellis Clark (Ann); sister-in-law, Gloria Clark; brothers-in-law, Sheldon (Darlene) and Blaine (Jean) Hallett; uncle, Paul Knox; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family, In addition to his parents, Eldon was predeceased by his infant daughter, Joanne Gail Clark; brother, Harley Clark; younger sister, Marilyn Carr (Terry); brother-in-law, Clifford Harris. Visitation will be at Journey Wesleyan Church, 131 Duncan Lane, Fredericton, NB on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Journey Wesleyan Church on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2 pm with Pastor Matthew Maxwell officiating. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Hartland, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Journey Wesleyan Church, Crandall University, Extra Mural Program, Greenwood Cemetery (Hartland, NB) or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to extend a sincere heartfelt thank you to Red Cross (Care Givers), Adult Program at York Care Centre, We Care (CBI), Extra Mural Program, and all the doctors and nurses on 3SW and the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
