Obituary of Ivan Clowater
Life Legacy
It is with great sadness that the family of Ivan Franklin Clowater husband of the late Elva (Price) Clowater announce his passing on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 10, 1929 in New Bandon, NB, he was the son of the late Frank and Florence (Sinclair) Clowater. Ivan served in the Army and was a carpenter by trade. He worked for Fredericton Housing for many years, and then he moved back to the Miramichi and continued to build houses. He enjoyed his woodworking projects as a hobby, and loved visits from his family.
Ivan is survived by his daughters, Penny McAleer (John) of New Bandon, NB and Jane Calhoun (Jerry) of Quispamsis, NB; sons, Duane Clowater (Lorna) of Fredericton, NB and Rickey Clowater (Marie) of St. Stephen, NB; grandchildren, Rick, Andrew, Barry, Jamie, Jennifer, Jarrett, Joel and Jacob; great grandchildren, Brady, Karlee, Alexa, Austin, River, Forrest and Lottie; brother, Gene Clowater; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Ivan was predeceased by his grandson, Adam; sisters, Edith, Alice, Vesta, Irene and Genevra; brothers, Vimy, Alvin, Ralph and Adrian; son in law, Jim McAleer.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Memorial Service will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 1 pm with Rev. Dr. Yvette Swan officiating. Interment will take place in New Bandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice. Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of the DECRH 3 East, Dr. H.
