I worked with Marion for several years at Simonds High. Marion was always kind and fair to her students. She made a difference to a lot of people during her teaching career. I am glad she enjoyed her travels after her retirement.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of one of my favorite teachers.Mrs.Usher was an excellent French teacher and expected her students to learn well. That I did in her class. My love of the French language can be attributed to her influence. My first teaching position involved teaching French to junior high students.I am very grateful for the many ways Mrs.Usher touched my life. Merci.

It was a joy to teach with Marion, and she had my ultimate respect as a colleague. Always helpful, she made my days as a teacher much easier, and more meaningful. I used to run into her, in retirement, on her visits to Saint John, talking about our shared teaching experiences.

It is with sadness that I read of the passing of Mrs. Usher. I remember her with great fondness as a student at Simonds High more than 40 years ago. Mrs. Usher was an amazing teacher who had high expectations. She was a credit to the profession and to the school. She wanted her students to strive for excellence. Her encouragement and high academic standards pushed so many students to excel and be the best they could be. She made a significant contribution to the lives of so many students. Her impact was immense. My success in her class encouraged me to pursue a career as a French teacher. I was happy to read that she had a wonderful retirement and that she travelled widely. Rest in peace.

Friends of Marion, please accept my sincerest condolences in the recent loss of Marion Usher. I had the pleasure of working with Marion for 14.5 years at Simones High School . She served as French Teacher, Department Head, Guidance Counsellor and Vice- Principal before her retirement. Marion was always a true professional educator and served her students with high standards, accompanied by compassion and understanding.
It has been many years since I have seen Marion and know she moved to Fredericton sometime after her retirement from SHS.
Her remains will return to Saint John. Marion helped shape many young lives over her teaching career and that will remain a significant part of her legacy .
