Obituary of David Sowers

SOWERS, DAVID ‘DAVE’ WAYNE The passing of David “Dave” Wayne Sowers of Nashwaak Bridge, NB occurred on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 20, 1950 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Irvine and Geraldine “Peggy” (Carr) Sowers. He was a self employed plumber for 40+ years after he began his career with Clowaters Plumbing. Dave was a Real Estate Agent for All Star Royal LePage, and the Past President of the Lions Club, when he lived in Cochrane, AB. He was a former NB Judo Champion. Dave was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and photography. He had a youthful sense of mischief with a wonderful sense of humour and was an extraordinary storyteller. Dave is survived by his best friend and companion, Laura Paterson; daughters, Joanna Carlson (Vic) of Calgary, AB, Melanie Zimmer (Scott) of Calgary, AB and Melanie’s mother, Elaine Sowers; son, Tim Sowers (Trudi) of Douglas, NB; grandchildren, Jessica Pott, Brittini Sowers, Caitlin Sowers, Melissa Carlson, Shaun Carlson, Jordyn Carlson, Kadyn Carlson, Conner Carlson, Aurora Zimmer and Alyssa Zimmer; great grandchildren, Brianna, Bailey and Myniah; sisters, Sharon Colburne (Herbie) of Geary, NB, Linda Clarkson (Bernard) of Stanley, NB and Kate Kirkpatrick (Jim) of Smiths Falls, ON; brothers, Bill (Sheila) and Paul (Debbie) both of Fredericton, NB, Neil (Ann) of Newmarket, ON and Rob (Tobi) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and first wife, Sharon Roberta Bourque, Dave was predeceased by his brother, Bill McCullough. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Fredericton SPCA.
