Obituary of Elsie Peters

The passing of Elsie (Holt) Peters, of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Leonard Peters, occurred on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 28, 1927 in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Seth James and Sara Holt. Elsie grew up in Saint John and later moved to Fredericton. Elsie was married to Len for 60 wonderful years. She worked at the Marysville Elementary School as a secretary for more than 20 years, she knew every kid in Marysville. Mom loved everyone and was always making people laugh. Later in her life, she devoted her time to her precious grandsons, Joseph and David, she talked about them constantly. Elsie is survived by her daughter, Ann Chamberlain (Joe) of Fredericton, NB; her pride and joy, grandsons Joseph and David; several nieces and nephews. Elsie was the last surviving member of her immediate family, in addition to her parents and husband; she was predeceased by her son, Ross Peters. A Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 6-9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of 4East for making Mom comfortable.
