Obituary of John Reid

The passing of John “Jack” Kenneth Reid of Beaverdam, NB, loving husband of Susan (Hancox) Reid occurred on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 27, 1955 in Holtville, NB, he was the son of the late Elva and Glendeen (Munn) Reid. He was a Building Engineer for Fortis Properties at Kings Place for 40 years. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling, he also loved to garden. Jack and his family want to say an immeasurable thank you to the donor and dear donor family who gave him the gift of extended life when he was the recipient of a double lung transplant; and are also grateful to Dr. Rushton and all of the people who gave him such amazing care over the years. In addition to his wife of 44 years, Jack is survived by his daughter, Jenna Reid (Tyler); sons, John “Wayne” Reid (Amanda) and William Reid (Amy); grandchildren, Mitchell, Heather, Kenneth and Anna Reid; sisters, Vonnie Munn (Charles), Darlene Russell and Debbie Berryman; several nieces and nephews; special mention to his lung buddies, his best friend, Charles Munn and special aunt, Grace Donnelly. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant siblings, Patsy and James; brothers, Carmen and Tony Reid. Visitation will take place at Nashwaak Valley Pentecostal Church on Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 1-3 pm; followed by a Funeral Service at 3 pm with Pastor Mike Trail officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association, Chalmers Foundation – Palliative Care Unit or the Nashwaak Valley Pentecostal Church.
