Obituary of Francois Beattie

The family of François Joseph “Frank” Beattie of Fredericton, NB are sad to announce his sudden passing which occurred on Friday, May 18, 2018 at York Care Centre in Fredericton, NB. Born in Rivière-du-Portage, NB on May 10, 1935, he was a son of the late William and Philomene (Brideau) Beattie. Frank worked most of his career as a Pay Master for Atlas Construction and then as an Investigator for the New Brunswick Department of Social Development until retirement allowed him to enjoy time with his loving family. Frank is survived by his wife of 57 years, Albertine; daughters, Brigitte Lawyer (Ian) of Bridgewater, NS, Denise Clark (Rod) of Fredericton, NB, Michelle Beattie (Randy) of Durham Bridge, NB; son, Daniel Beattie (Julie) of Quispamsis, NB; grandchildren, Brandon, Danielle, Laura, René, Lisa and Simon; sister, Aline Rousselle of Brantville, NB; brother, Edmond Beattie (Jacqueline) of Rivière-du-Portage, NB; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brother, Simon Beattie; brother-in-law, Alcide Rousselle; and an infant sister, Mathilda. The family would like to thank the staff at York Care Center for their compassionate care. It was Frank’s wish for everyone to get together and remember the good times and celebrate his life. A gathering for friends and family will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 2-4 pm for all who wish to attend.
