Obituary of Velma Edgar

The passing of Velma Rene (Law) Edgar, of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Frank Edgar Sr., loving mother to late daughter Patricia, occurred on May 6, 2018 at the Oromocto Public Hospital, Oromocto, NB. Born on September 24, 1939 in Brandon, MB, she was a daughter of the late Cameron and Gladys (Roberts) Law. Velma dedicated many selfless hours to the Trenton Lioness Club, Meals on Wheels as well as many other charities. Although she worked outside her home, her primary focus was always her family and her many four legged friends who brought her so much joy. Vel had a unique gift of making everyone in her life feel special and always welcome in her home. In recent years Velma spent hours lovingly knitting, crocheting and colouring gifts for people she loved and she relished any conversation about current affairs. She was a woman of great faith with a wonderful sense of humour who lived her life with grace and enriched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was admired and loved beyond words and will live in the hearts of her family and friends forever. Velma is survived by her daughter, Shaunna Gillman; her son, Frank Edgar (Colette); grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell, Ryan, Trevor and Brendan, great grandchildren, Alexander, Summer, Nicholas, Richard, Sophie and Brandon; sister, Sharon Neilson and several nieces and nephews. A memorial mass and interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the SPCA or to the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
