Obituary of Sanford Haines

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sanford Walter Haines, husband of Zella (Williams) Haines, of Dorn Ridge, NB, occurred on April 29, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 4, 1937 in Burtts Corner, NB, he was a son of the late Arthur and Greta (Brewer) Haines. Sanford was a carpenter with Fredericton Housing and MacFadgen Holding. He was the former chief of the Keswick Valley Fire Department where he served for 35 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Brenda Luce (Cleatus) and Rose Bennett (Perry) both of Burtts Corner, NB; sons, Murray (Linda) and Stephen both of Stanley, NB, Eric (Faye) and Brian (Suzanne) both of Burtts Corner, NB; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Noreen Yeo (Bob) and Mae Dunn both of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Harold (Mary) of Penniac, NB, Paul (June), Sydney (Eleanor) and Darrel (Lisa) all of Burtts Corner, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three grandchildren; one great grandson; son, Edwin Haines; daughter-in-law, Shawna McNally and sister, Dinah Taylor. Visitation will take place at Burtts Corner Christian Church on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Burtts Corner Christian Church on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Dan Foreman officiating. Pallbearers are Trent Hill, Eddie Johnson, Dave Wellwood, Danny Hoyt, Fred Annis and Allan Brewer. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Keswick Valley Fire Department for honouring his 35 years of service. Donations may be made to Hospice Fredericton or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
