Obituary of Amy Savage

The passing of Amy Alberta Mae Savage, of Stanley, NB, wife of the late Harry Savage, occurred on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 13, 1924 in Ward Settlement, NB, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Lillian (Sands) Flewelling. Amy was a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church, the ACW and of the Ward Settlement Women’s Institute. Amy lived 94 wonderful years, in the home where she was born. Family gatherings at the homestead were her joy; there was always a meal for whoever came to the door, followed by a cup a tea, cookies, and a game of cards. Amy is survived her best friend and sister, Fannie Thomas; her son, Laurie Savage (Glenna Gillies); daughters-in-law, Hoda and Barbara Savage; grandchildren, Gordon, Debbie, Stephen, Jillian, Kevin, Christopher and Bradley; step grandchildren, Jenny, Erin, Nicole and Taylor; several great grandchildren; sister in law, Madelene Brown; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sons, Leigh and Sandy Savage; sisters, Elizabeth Flewelling, Edith Coy, Ethel McLaggan and Freda Thomas; brothers, Sam and Lloyd Flewelling. A Celebration of Amy’s Life will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Stanley, NB on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 3 pm with Rev. Bonita LeBlanc officiating. Interment will take place in St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery at a later date. The family wish to express their gratitude to nieces, Cynthia and Loretta; homecare workers; the wonderful ladies in Stanley for the care they provided at the homestead, the staff at the DECRH 4SE and Dr. Malfud all for their compassionate care.
