Obituary of Robert Pickard

The passing of Robert “Bob” Alonzo Pickard, of Keswick, NB, occurred on April 20, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on July 3, 1941 in Keswick, NB, he was a son of the late Eugene and Hilda (Ingraham) Pickard. Bob was a graduate of Keswick Ridge Rural High School and the co-owner of Central Auto Parts. He was a member of the Fredericton Angler’s Club and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed participating in drag-strip racing in the 60’s, playing hockey and golf as well as working in the woods. He was an enthusiastic spectator of Nascar. Bob is survived by his siblings, Elaine Robertson, Aubrey Pickard (Ruth) and Brian Pickard; his loving partner, Hazel; step-daughters, Karla, Kerri (Dave), Korina, Tari Anne (Ken) and Korali (Buck). Levi, Kodi, Kelsi (Brad), Hans and Justice were especially loved by Grandpa Bob; nieces, Kelly Monette (Mike), Kim Pickard, Karen Pickard (Robin) and Candace Pickard; nephew, Scott Robertson (Eriko); several grand nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Beverly Robertson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 2 pm with Archdeacon John Sharpe officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Jack Estey, Brett Derrah, William Bird Jr., Charles Gallagher, Nick Fitzpatrick and Cody Chambers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Baird, Doug Hamilton, Richard Thomas, Bob Gill, Erlon Philips, Ed Topiski, Galane Barker, Sterling and Nicole Gallan, Donnie Clark, Winston Whittaker and Earl Dunphy. Interment will take place in Pickard Merrithew Cemetery at a later date. The family requests the services be scent free. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
