Obituary of Dale Colpitts

The passing of Dale Wallace Colpitts of Fredericton, husband of Joan Colpitts occurred on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at home. Born on September 16, 1932 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Howard and Nettie (Collier) Colpitts. He worked for the Province of NB Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Tourism. He was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church, having served on the property committee for several years and was a member of the United Church Men. In addition to his wife, Dale is survived by his daughters, Polly Colpitts of Calgary and Sarah MacQueen of Fredericton; grandchildren, Evan Wong of Calgary, Hailee MacQueen and Alexander MacQueen both of Fredericton; sister, Isabel Constantine (Stirling) of Salisbury; brothers, David Colpitts (Ardith) of Sussex and Howe Colpitts (Joyce) of Riverview; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Donna Jones; and son in law, Edward Wong. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service followed by a reception will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating. Interment will take place in Colpitts Cemetery, Colpitts Settlement at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation or to Hospice Fredericton.
