Obituary of Vernon Morehouse

The passing of Vernon Allan Morehouse, formerly of Burtts Corner and Zealand, NB, husband of Darlene (Brewer) Morehouse, occurred on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 25, 1931 in Zealand, NB, he was the son of the late Byron and Ora (Brewer) Morehouse. He worked as a foreman for Diamond Construction. He was a member of Burtts Corner Baptist Church. Vernon enjoyed fishing, hunting, going camping and being outdoors. In addition to his wife, Vernon is survived by his daughter, Shirley McPhee (Allen) of Upper Keswick, NB; sons, Allan Morehouse (Carla) and Dwight Morehouse (Susan) both of Burtts Corner, NB; daughter in law, Sylvia Morehouse of Harvey, NB; grandchildren, Lynn (Shane), Terry (Catharina), Shawn (Jennifer), Erika (Steve), Vanessa (Tim), Aaron (Jessica), Natasha (Steven) Tiffany (Ken), Jonathan (Katherine) and Joshua; fifteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Vernon is the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Morehouse; great grandchild, Saphira; sisters, Lucy, Celia, Annie and Leona; brothers, Chester, Robert and Merville. There will be visitation at Burtts Corner Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 6-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Burtts Corner Baptist Church on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Stephen Hoyt officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Terry McPhee, Aaron, Nathaniel, Shawn and Joshua Morehouse and Asa Hood. Interment will take place in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Burtts Corner Baptist Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
