Obituary of Harold Gilmore

With great sadness, the family of Harold “John” Gilmore of Keswick Ridge, NB announce his sudden passing on Monday, April 2, 2018, at home. Born on July 4, 1950 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Harold and Phyllis (MacIntyre Merrithew) Gilmore. John was a farmer and heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Mactaquac Baptist Church and the Keswick Ridge Fire Department for 38 years. John spent many winters working as a woodsman.
John is survived by his daughter, Amanda Gilmore of Alberta; sisters, Ruth Pickard (Aubrey) and Pam Gilmore-Sas (Wout); brothers, Richard Gilmore (Lynn) and Vincent Gilmore (Crystal); Aunt Beatrice Gilmore; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved German Shepherd, Athena.
A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 11am with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. Honourary Pallbearers will be the esteemed members of his Keswick Ridge Fire Department family. A reception will follow at All Saints Anglican Church, Crocks Point Road, Keswick Ridge immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Keswick Ridge Fire Department or a charity of the donor’s choice.
