Obituary of Ross Edmondson

With sorrow, the family of Ross Adam Edmondson announce his peaceful passing at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 25, 2018, with his family by his side. He was born on May 2, 1937, the youngest son of the late Harry and Mae (Rosborough) Edmondson. Ross is survived by his wife of 58 years Shirley (Currie) and his children Elaina (Pierre) Borloz of Switzerland, Lisa (Cedric) Buettner of Massachusetts, and Eric (Stacey) Edmondson of Ontario, and by his grandchildren Jacob and Michelle Buettner, and Taylor (TJ) and Ally Edmondson. He is also survived by his brother Ronald of Keswick Ridge and his brother-in-law Lyall Bigelow of Ontario, as well as twenty-four nieces and nephews and their families, as well as many cousins and friends. Ross was predeceased by his parents, parents-in-law Myles and Iva Currie, seven sisters Marion (Gordon) Merrithew, Doris (Roy) Burnett, Hattie (George) Black, Kaye (Thomas) Johnson, Hazel, Eva Bigelow, and Ellamae (Howard) Crawford, two brothers Ernest (Lena) and Harold (Kathleen), and two sisters-in-law Maxine and Emma Edmondson. Ross was a Construction Superintendent at Diamond Construction for 43 years. He was a much-loved father, husband, brother, uncle, and son. Ross enjoyed travelling and visiting with his children and grandchildren, and he was a very special father and grandfather to all. He enjoyed family events and many happy times at Scotch Lake with family and friends. Ross was always ready to help anyone he could in his quiet, gentle and giving way. Family, friends, co-workers, and many others benefited from Ross’s friendship and help over the years. He will be missed by so many in the years ahead as we remember his smile, sense of humor, encouragement, and love of others. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Nashwaaksis Baptist Church on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. John Crawford officiating; followed by a reception at the church. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a later date. The family thanks the staff of 4NW and 4E at DECH for their care during his last months, and friends and family for their support. To those who wish, remembrance may be made to The Chalmers Hospital Foundation, Nashwaaksis Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
