Gesner, Garth Vernon
The passing of Garth Vernon Gesner of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born April 22, 1959 in Woodstock, NB, he was the son of Inez (MacLean) Gesner and the late Leo Gesner.
Garth is survived by his sons, Brian Gesner, Bradley Gesner and their mother Ruth Ann Gesner. Garth is also survived by his mother Inez (MacLean) Gesner; brothers Garret (Debbie), Daryl, Calvin, Kirby (Susan); sister, Shauna; and his many nieces and nephews.
His latest employment was as a Civil Servant with the Government of New Brunswick. Garth was a graduate of the Maritime Forest Ranger School. He was affiliated with the United Church of Canada. Garth's time and energy were lovingly spent with his two sons and family.
Garth will be remembered for his sense of humour. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved going to his sons' sporting events. Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, caregivers of 3West and recently 3East at the DECRH for providing care and compassion at this difficult time.
As requested by the family, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 2 pm with Rev. J. D. Kennedy officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Dr. Chalmers Regional Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Unit, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the Donor's choice.
