Obituary of Doreen Thorne

Life Legacy The passing of Doreen Jean Thorne, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on February 8, 1944 in Fredericton, she was a daughter of the late Murray and Marjorie (Foreman) Saunders. Doreen was a beloved teacher at Devon Park Christian School, an active member of Devon Park Baptist Church involved with Friendly Auxiliary, Caleb’s Clan and the church choir. She was a gracious, kindhearted, and a true follower of Jesus. Deeply loved by all her family and those that had the opportunity to know her. Doreen is survived by her children, Brent Thorne, Stephen Thorne, Krista Clark (Mark) and their father Raymond (Rayma); grandchildren, Ashton, Joel and Alexa; her sister, Elizabeth Edgett; niece, Heather Nesrallah (Chad); nephew, David Edgett (Marsha). In addition to her parents, Doreen was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Dean Edgett and her niece, Roxanne Thorne. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Devon Park Baptist Church on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2 pm with Pastor Terry Woodcock officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Roger Cormier, Nick Schuman, Jim Pike, David Smith, Kevin Boyd and Randy Fox. Honorary Pallbearers will be Irvine Curtis, David Steeves, Helen Mersereau, Ashton Clark, Joel Clark, Alexa Clark, Heather Nesrallah and Madison Edgett. Interment will take place in Seymour Memorial Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Devon Park Baptist Church, Fredericton Christian Academy or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
