Obituary of Mary Malley
September 21, 1958-February 25, 2018
It is with great sorrow, that the family announce the passing of Mary Claudette (MacDonald) Malley of Fredericton, NB at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Chatham, NB, she was the eldest daughter of Irene (Bennett) MacDonald and the late Eldon MacDonald.
Mary worked for Horizon Health Network, and enjoyed going to Bingo. Although she was quite ill, she managed to stay in good spirits, and have a great sense of humour. Anyone who knew her, knew she always had a joke or two to tell them. Mary was a fighter, until the very end.
She is survived by her husband, Leo of 32 years. She leaves behind a son, Rodney MacDonald of CFAD Dundurn; daughter, Tanyalee Malley of Fredericton, NB; step sons, George (Sarah) Malley, and Jason Malley; grandchildren, Tristan, Victoria, Dillan, and Skyler; brothers, Richard (Karen) MacDonald and Donald (Faye) MacDonald both of Black River Bridge, NB, Kerry (Veronica) MacDonald of Calgary AB; sisters, Gloria (Steve) LaCharite, of Calgary, AB and Theresa (Vince) Cable of Black River Bridge, NB; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Besides her father, Mary was predeceased by her brother, Leo, in infancy; paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary (Edge) MacDonald; maternal grandparents, Henry and Philomene (Gauvin) Bennett.
The family would like to thank the many Nurses, Doctors, and staff at the SJRH, more specifically 5A South, for caring for Mary in her last months.
There will be no visitation or funeral service by Mary’s request. Mary would’ve encouraged people become a Blood/Organ/Stem Cell Donor, or make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
