He was born on October 12, 1953 in Saint John, NB. After he graduated from Oromocto High, he attended Agriculture College in Kemptville, Ontario and worked most of his career in the agricultural field for almost 40 years; 23 years being employed by Eastern Breeders Inc. After retiring from this position, he spent much of his time volunteering as a canvasser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Diabetes Association and obtained various part-time jobs over the last few years. Richard had a kind heart and it showed by his acts of kindness and willingness to help his neighbours and friends. Richard will be greatly missed by his wife, Janet (nee Johnson) of 36 years; son, Kirk; daughter, Jodell (Mark Buchanan); two special grandsons, Blake and Brady, who loved their Papa very much, and their Papa thought the world of them. He is also survived by sisters, Gail (Fred) Holmes and Barb (Ronnie) Brown; Aunt Anne Ross; father-in-law, Donald Johnson (Lois Sandwith); sister and brother-in-law Cindy (Raymond) Young, Wayne (Carol) Johnson and Tom Johnson; as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, Arthur and Frances (Ross) Cameron and mother-in-law, Jean Johnson. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.
