Obituary of Eugene Jones

Life Legacy The passing of Eugene Paul Jones of Lake George, NB, husband of Glenna (Flinn) Jones occurred on Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on October 8, 1932 in Dorn Ridge, NB, he was the son of the late Delbert and Adeline (Gallagher) Jones. He worked in Maintenance for Supply and Services. Eugene enjoyed woodworking, snowmobiling, playing solitaire and was an avid Blue Jays fan. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and all his game shows. In addition to his wife, Eugene is survived by his daughters, Bonita “Bonni” St Thomas (Hubert) and Lorraine Grantham (Jerry); son, Derrick Jones (Sheila); grandchildren, Jason St Thomas (Karen), Kimberly Grantham (Chris), Amy Hanson (Dustin), Jeremy Grantham (Tonia) and Jason Michael Grantham; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Matthew, Brayden, Brooklynn, Briahna, Haylee, Joshua, Rebekah and Bentleigh; sisters, Mardelle Scott and Eileen Blanchette; brother, Freeman Jones (Helen); several nieces, nephews and his cat, Harley. In addition to his parents, Eugene was predeceased by his granddaughter, Amanda Dawn St Thomas; sisters, Fern, Blanche, Pearl, Margaret, Pauline, Nora and Edith; brothers, Elwood, Hazen, Wilfred, Flavis, Donnie and Douglas. As per Eugene’s wishes, there will be no services. The arrangements are entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Epilepsy Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
