Obituary of Rhoda Colford

The passing of Rhoda Grace Colford of Fredericton, NB, wife of Martin Colford occurred on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 15, 1939 in Williamsburg, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Leola (Kerr) Dorcas. She retired from the Business Office at St. Thomas University. Rhoda was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish and a past member of the CWL. She will be remembered for her love of entertaining and having a crowd around. Rhoda won awards for her baking and chilli cooking. She enjoyed her time in Florida, going almost every year, loved bingo and watching wrestling. In addition to her husband, Rhoda is survived by her daughters, Kathy Nichols (Bill) of Gagetown, NB and Nicole Colford of Fredericton, NB; sons, Kevin Colford and Ralph Colford (Linda) both of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Amanda MacDougall (Eric), Chris Colford, Alex Colford and Cooper Upton; great grandchildren, Easton and Connor; sisters in law, Peggy (David), Norma, Loretta (Wayne), Colleen (James); brothers in law, Albert (Jody), Glenn (Betty), Roy (Patricia), Joseph, Leslie and Merle (Jean); many nieces and nephews. Rhoda was the last surviving member of her immediate family; besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, June Cornish. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11 am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant.
