Obituary of H.Murray Ross

Life Legacy The passing of H. Murray Ross of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Rachel (Brown) Ross occurred on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Hospice House, Fredericton, NB. Born on June 1, 1943 in Holtville, NB, he was the son of the late Harold and Gladys (Lyons) Ross. Murray was employed with and took great pride in working for the City of Fredericton, in their transit department for over 20 years. Being from the Miramichi, he also had a love for the outdoors in any form, whether it was hunting, camping or four wheeling. He was most at home in his garage where countless hours were spent making or fixing pretty much anything. Murray is survived by his daughter, Heather Holt (Eugene) of Douglas, NB; grandson, Bradley Holt (Anaïs) of Renfrew, ON; great grandchildren, Rylan and Liam; sisters, Ruth Betts and Daisy Gillis (Chuck) both of British Columbia, Rowena Hunter (Winston) of Fredericton, NB, Pauline Urquhart of Taymouth, NB and Brenda Sparkes (Bob) of British Columbia; brother, Waldo “Buddy” Ross (Olga) of Boiestown, NB; sister-in-law, Phyllis Brown; brothers-in-law, George Bell, Charles Brown and Lorne Beers; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sisters, Gloria Hossack and Christine Beers; sister-in-law, Gertrude Bell and brothers-in-law, Gerald Brown, Jim Urquhart and Roy Hossack. The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11am with Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place in Cameron Hill Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton.
