Life Legacy
The passing of Earl Frederick Phillips, of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Clara (Gallagher) Phillips, occurred on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Windsor Court. Born on September 9, 1929 in Rusagonis, NB, he was a son of Chester and Elizabeth (Rynax) Phillips. Earl was a Carpenter Foreman for UNB for 27 years. He was a member of Nashwaaksis Baptist Church and a past member of the Men’s Group at the church and of the Johnson Ave Seniors Workshop.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Hanson (Charles) of Greenhill Lake, NB; sons, Fred (Jan) of Ripples, NB, Brian (Bonnie) of Fredericton, NB and Blaine (Karen) of Douglas, NB; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; brother, Edison (Lois) of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Vera Hayward, Nellie Clark and Annie Phillips; half sister, Catherine Smith; brothers, Wilbert, Rupert and Ivan; half brother, George Haines and granddaughter, Shelly Ann (Phillips) Palmer.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Nashwaaksis Baptist Church, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2 pm with Pastor Lawrence Meade officiating. Pallbearers will be Fred Phillips, Brian Phillips, Blaine Phillips, Jeremy Phillips, Chris Phillips and Gordon Hanson. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Greenhill Lake Camp or the Nashwaaksis Baptist Church.
