Sorry to hear of Walters passing. I worked with Walter for a number of years in South Devon and have fond memories of crawling around under the snow plow with him as we tried to re-rail it.I was a track maintainer in those days, but always enjoyed helping Walter when I could. His knowledge of railroading was amazing.

Irene. This is Jackie's sister. I only met Walter once when I attended Mike and Jackie's wedding. I have been praying for Jackie and Mike and Carrie for years. Jackie had told me that you and Walter attended Devon Park and I always wanted to go so I could see you again and take Jackie and Carrie with me. Although Jackie and Mike have not been together for many years now I still continue to pray for Mike. Praying for you at this most difficult season in your life.

So saddened to learn of Walter's passing. I, too, come from a Devon railroad family (father: Jim Craik, engineer, plus other family members). Walter's book "The Men of the Whooper" is therefore a valued treasure.
My sincere condolences to all the family.

I met Walter over 25 years ago at his home in Fredericton. A walking history of the railway in New Brunswick. We had interesting discussion on gas lighting for the railway cars. I wish I had more time to visit him
I have a signed copy of his book.
My condolences to the family on your loss.

A long life but now one that will be missed. Walter was a great guy and a very good friend to my father and my family. He worked with dad on the CNR infact, I believe he was the one who got dad the job many years ago. Prayers and love to you all who mourn.
