Obituary of Elaine Vander Ploeg

Elaine Vander Ploeg, age 87, peacefully passed away to make heaven her home on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at York Care Centre, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Elaine was born on January 3, 1931 in Groningen, Holland. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret Croeze. On November 3, 1951, Elaine married Engbert Vander Ploeg who predeceased her on December 4, 2002. Together they raised five children, Peter (Judy) of Florida, Marnie of New Brunswick, Edith of Alberta, Wendy Lavigne (Dan) of Newfoundland and Jenny of New Brunswick; she is also survived by her sisters, Jane Klomp of California, Diane DeVries (John) of Ontario; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren, and her special friend, Tony Veerkamp. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Bruce, Harry and Jacob. There will be a Private Graveside Service at the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery at a later date. Immediate family would like to express appreciation and gratitude for the care, kindness and support of the staff and volunteers at York Care Centre, as well as the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital 4E and 4SE.
