Obituary of Frederick Young

It is with sad hearts the family announce the unexpected passing of Frederick (Fred) Byron Young of Taymouth, NB on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home. Born on March 27, 1946, he was the son of the late Byron and Dorothy (Hildebrand) Young. He was the beloved husband of the late Bertha (MacKay) Young. Fred is survived by his step sons, David Davies of Fredericton, NB and Brian Davies (Tracy) of Cochrane, AB; sister-in-law, Marlene Hood of Nashwaak Bridge, NB; brother-in-law, Borden Boyles of PEI; one brother, Robert Young (Joy) of Fredericton, NB; one sister, Katherine Bavis (Gerald) of Taymouth, NB; nieces, Krista Fullarton (Jonathan) and Jennifer Goodine (Clyde) both of Fredericton, NB, Julie Hale (Josh) of Ottawa, ON, Cheryl Lewis (Dave) of Phoenix, AZ; nephews, Greg Bavis (Gillian) of Durham Bridge, NB, Corey Young (Jessica) of Airdrie, AB and Marty Young (Leanne Weatherby) of Fredericton, NB; special aunts, Eliona Young of Taymouth, NB and Jean Young of Fredericton, NB; many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and wife, Fred was predeceased by infant niece, Beth Young; sisters-in-law, Marina Boyles, Cora MacKay, and Delores Hill. Fred grew up in Taymouth and was a heavy equipment operator and worked for Diamond Construction and also the Province of New Brunswick Department of Transportation. Fred was a member of the Taymouth United Church and the Beaverbrook Branch Legion No. 80 (Nashwaak Bridge). He will be fondly remembered for his quiet, kind and gentle manner and his love for people. The family wishes to thank his special caregiver Christina Anderson for all of her love and kindness. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 1 pm with Rev. Dr. Yvette Swan officiating. Interment will take place in Nashwaak Bridge Community Cemetery.
