IT IS WITH DEEP SADNESS WE ANNOUNCE THE PASSING OF ALICE CELIA HOLT (LOZIER) ON NOVEMBER 8TH, 2017 AT THE AGE OF 71 AFTER A LONG AND COURAGEOUS BATTLE WITH SEVERAL HEALTH ISSUES.
ALICE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, WILLIAM (BILL) HOLT, ONE DAUGHTER, DAWN SZABO OF ALBERTA; ONE SON, MARK HOLT (STELLA) OF MINNESOTA; ONE BROTHER, WAYNE LOZIER OF CANTERBURY; FOUR GRANDDAUGHTERS, ELYSE AND EVA (DAWN); JENNIFER AND JASMINE (MARK & STELLA); SISTER-IN-LAW, BARB (ROSS) CHANDLER OF ST. ANDREWS, AN AUNT, NORMA CRANDLEMERE OF SKIFF LAKE; SPECIAL COUSIN BY MARRIAGE, BOB HOLT OF ST. JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK; SPECIAL NIECE MICHELLE DOW (TROY); SEVERAL OTHER NIECES AND NEPHEWS, COUSINS, AND CLOSE FRIENDS.
ALICE WAS PREDECEASED BY HER MOTHER, RUTH (CRANDLEMERE) LOZIER, FATHER, ROMEO LOZIER; MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS, PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS; TWO UNCLES, GEORGE AND ALEXANDER CRANDLEMERE; TWO SISTERS-IN-LAW, MARY MCFARLANE (NORM); AND DARLENE LOZIER, AND SURROGATE FATHER MARVIN MCELROY.
ALICE WAS BORN IN WOODSTOCK, NEW BRUNSWICK ON NOVEMBER 12TH, 1945. ALICE GREW UP IN CANTERBURY, NEW BRUNSWICK UNTIL SHE ATTENDED COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN ST. ANDREWS NEW BRUNSWICK, WHERE SHE GRADUATED FROM THE SEAMSTRESS PROGRAM IN 1964. ALICE MET BILLY (BILL) WHILE SHE ATTENDED COLLEGE AND THEY WERE SOON MARRIED AT THE CHAPEL OF EASE IN CHAMCOOK, NEW BRUNSWICK ON JULY 31ST, 1965.
ALICE KEPT VERY BUSY AND WORKED AT MANY DIFFERENT JOBS. SHE WAS VERY CRAFTY AND A BRILLIANT SEAMSTRESS. SHE ENJOYED VOLUNTEERTING IN THE MANY COMMUNITIES SHE LIVED OVER MANY YEARS, HAD A PASSION FOR THE LIONS CLUB IN NACKAWIC, NEW BRUNSWICK AND WILL BE FONDLY REMEMBERED BY PEOPLE AND YOUTH IN THE HARVEY STATION AREA FOR HER CONTRIBUTION AND INVOLVEMENT WITH SO MANY ACTIVITIES AT THE HARVEY COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTRE.
ALICE WILL BE FONDLY REMEMBERED AND MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, FEEL FREE TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO YOUR LOCAL S.P.C.A IF YOU WISH.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD AT THE YORK FUNERAL HOME’S T. GORDON MACLEOD MEMORIAL CHAPEL AT 2 PM AT 302 BROOKSIDE DRIVE IN FREDERICTION, NEW BRUNSWICK ON WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ALICE’S 72ND BIRTHDAY, NOVEMBER 12TH, 2017. PERSONAL CONDOLENCES MAY BE OFFERED THROUGH WWW.YORKFH.COM
