Nolais, Raymond Joseph
The passing of Raymond “Ray” Joseph Nolais of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Vivian (Burke) Nolais occurred on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Veterans Health Unit. Born on July 21, 1924 in Weaver Siding, NB, he was the son of the late James and Theresa (Colford) Nolais. Ray was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. He was a veteran of WWII.
Ray is survived by his daughters, Althea Storey (Jim), Maxine Watson (Weaver) and Rose Bennett (Dean) all of Fredericton, NB; sons, James Nolais of McGivney, NB, Terry Nolais (Kim) of Fredericton, NB, Joe Nolais (Pat) of Halifax, NS, David Nolais of Fredericton, NB and Bobby Nolais of British Columbia; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Viola Colford and Martha Burns; brothers, John and Crumbley Nolais.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 6:45 pm for a Legion Tribute Service. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from Our Lady of Fatima Parish on Friday, November, 3, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Michael McGowan as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
