Obituary of Joseph Hachey

Hachey, Joseph Arthur The passing of Joseph “Arthur” Hachey of Moncton, NB, husband of Wendy (Shpak) Hachey occurred on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Parkland Shannex, Riverview, NB. Born on November 15, 1935 in Rogersville, NB, he was the son of Michael and Angel (Comeau) Hachey. Arthur had a true entrepreneurial spirit. He was a jack of all trades. He loved being creative and was happiest when he was helping others. He was affiliated with the Parish of Bright. Arthur participated in starting chapters of AA in different regions of New Brunswick. He was an avid volunteer and had a passion to help the under privileged and those needing a second chance in life. In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived his daughters, Anna Randall (Aaron) of Keswick, NB and Melanie Smith (Phillip) of Moncton, NB; sons, Michael (Sara Thomas) of Toronto, ON, Patrick of Halifax, NS, David (Rochelle) of Cape Breton, NS and Joseph Hachey of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Emma, Sam and Anna Hachey, Jessica, Vanessa and Laura Randall, Isaac, Andrew, Sarah, Leah and Claire Smith; sisters, Rose McKinnon of Minto, NB and Bertha Priest of Sarnia, ON; brother, Andrew Hachey (Martine) of Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Louise Martin and brother, Anthony Hachey. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 11-1 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Canon Jon Lownds officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton Homeless Shelter, AA or the Canadian Mental Health Association. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
