Obituary of Leona Betts

With great sadness we announce the passing of Leona Marie Betts on Friday, September 29, 2017. Leona was born on November 11, 1930, the daughter of the late Leverett and Estella Chase. She married the love of her life, Freeman Betts, in 1952. Leona is survived by her sister, Reta; children, Richard, Brian, Cindy, Barbara, Bobby, Karen, and Michael; her nine grandchildren and her eight great grandchildren. Leona was predeceased by her parents and husband, Freeman; her siblings, Reggie, Eileen, Madeline, Frank, and Vaughn, and her grandson, Jarred. A true matriarch of the Betts family, Leona was a magnet for love and attention from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her family and many wonderful friends are welcomed to pay their respects in the same way they would have enjoyed her company, by stopping by her resting place, alone or with friends, and spending a few moments with Leona and Freeman. Leona and Freeman will be buried on the front corner near the west entrance of the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension by the end of the week.
