Obituary of Mary Banks

The passing of Mary Violet (Hall) Banks of Saint John, NB, wife of the late William “Bill’ Banks occurred on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Turnbull Nursing Home, Saint John, NB. Born on March 19, 1920 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Gladys (Cooper) Hall. Mary was a volunteer at York Care Centre, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch #4; she was also involved with various church groups and enjoyed bowling. Mary is survived by her daughter, Connie Greene (Hal) of Browns Flat, NB; granddaughter, Monica Fairweather (Dave) of Grand Manan, NB and great grandchildren, Travis, Caleb and Destiny. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Muriel Banks; her sister, Muriel Wilbur and her brothers, Dick, Clowes and John Hall. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 1 pm with Rev. Walter Perry officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
