Obituary of Etta Price

The passing of Etta Mae Price, wife of the late George B. Price of Doaktown, NB occurred on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in Back Bay, NB on March 12, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Marion (Hatt) Hooper. Etta spent many years as a homecare worker and enjoyed knitting, making preserves, gardening, cooking word searches and listening to country gospel music. Etta is survived by daughters, Nilah Price, Dora Buchanan, Bonnie Wilson (Keith); sons, Carl Price (Elaine), Terry Price (Merva), Kevin Price (Geri Geldart), Rufus Price, Mark Price (Ernestine Long); 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Hooper; brothers, Alfred Hooper (Brenda), Rufus Hooper; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Hooper, Theresa Hooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Etta was predeceased by two infant children, Jerry and Eileen; brothers, Andrew, Fraser and Sheldon Hooper. Visitation will be held at Abundant Life Church, Main Street, Doaktown, NB on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from the church on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 1 pm with Rev. Ronald Carroll and Rev. Dwight Cole officiating. Interment is in Doaktown First Pentecostal Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church. For those who wish, remembrances can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or New Brunswick Lung Association.
