Obituary of Major Reuben Janes
The passing of Major Reuben Edgar Janes, husband of Major Elizabethe (Keddy) Janes, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at York Care Centre. Born on September 7, 1937 in Kings Point, NL, he was a son of the late Cecil and Drusilla (Verge) Janes. Major Reuben retired as a Pastor with the Salvation Army in Ontario.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Stephen Janes (Annette) of Windsor, ON, Kimberley Janes (Paul Flemming) of Lincoln, NB and Jacqueline Janes (Mike Rasewych) of Pembroke, ON; grandchildren, Matthew, Jonathan and Tyler Janes; Joshua and Jonathon Beveridge; Christian and Ryan Mullins; great grandchildren, Parker Janes and Madison Shirley Janes; sisters, Lucy Caines of Kings Point, NL and Muriel Nobel of Kings Point, NL; brother, Fred Janes (Alice) of Kings Point, NL; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Edward Janes and his brother-in-law, Gordon Caines.
A Celebration of Life will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 2:30-4:30 pm. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Fredericton SPCA. Interment will take place in Kings Point, NL. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
