Obituary of Mary Foster

It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Jane (Pyne) Foster of Maugerville, NB, wife of the late Albert William “Bill” Foster, announces her peaceful passing at her home, surrounded by her family on Friday, July 14, 2017. She was born on January 7, 1930 in Marysville, NB, she was the last surviving child of the late William and Lois (Brewer) Pyne. Mary worked at the Cotton Mill and Kmart. She was a member of Gibson Memorial United Church. Mary enjoyed cooking, knitting, bowling and was an avid fan of curling and the Toronto Blue Jays. Mary is survived by her children, Donna Ryan (Marty) of Petawawa, ON, David Foster (Sandra) of Fredericton, NB and Rodney Foster (Kim) of Kaslo, BC; grandchildren, Moira, Megan, Erin, Jordan, Sara, Katie and Michael; great grandchildren, Ethan, Larsen, Autumn and Charlotte; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant daughter, Janet Foster; grandson, Jason Harding; siblings, Lloyd Pyne, Sterling Pyne, Doris Newman, Arthur Pyne, Arthureain Estey and John Pyne. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place from Gibson Memorial United Church on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Brian MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Extra Mural Program, Chalmers Hospital Foundation – Oncology Department or the charity of the donor’s choice.
