Obituary of John McKinley

Life Legacy The passing of John (Jack) Eldon McKinley of Penniac (Fredericton), NB, occurred on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a brief illness. Born on November 21, 1937 in Marysville, NB, he was the son of the late Eldon Hubert and Mildred Margaret (Estabrooks) McKinley. Jack had been in the carpentry trade over fifty years, having worked for J.L. Simms & Sons, contractor John Clayton, and Jardine Renovations Ltd. He was self-employed since 1971, retiring in 2005. Jack is survived by his wife, Alice Vivian (Foote/Peters) McKinley, nine children; Lynn Vroom (Brian), Linda Justason (Jeff), Susan Grant (Rev. Donald), David McKinley (Wendy), Bill McKinley (Kim), Donna McKinley (Mark), Barbara McKinley (Paul), Kim McKinley, and Nancy McKinley, 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters; Shirley Cochrane (Ottawa, ON), Elizabeth (Betty) Hunter (Fredericton, NB), one brother, Robert (Bob) and wife Susan (Fort McMurray, AB), several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jack was predeceased by his first wife, Eva Merle (Munn) McKinley, his daughter, Lorna Mae Lyons, brothers-in-law, Ted Cochrane (Ottawa, ON) and Gary Hunter (Fredericton, NB), and a great grandson Michael Grant (Moncton, NB). Visitation will take place at the Crosspoint Wesleyan Church, Coronation Court, Marysville, NB on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. The memorial service will follow at the church at noon with Rev. John Symonds and Rev. David LeRoy officiating. A private interment will take place in the Marysville Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Donald Grant officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.
